Hot Melt Adhesives: Hot Melt Adhesives are one part, solvent, and water free formulations that are thermoplastic, 100% solid, and are all adhesive at room temperature. However, at elevated temperatures, the usual operating temperature being in the range of 150 to 200° C, they become a low viscosity fluid with excellent adhesive properties. Subsequent to the removal of heat, they set by simple cooling. They achieve a solid state and resultant strength by cooling, as contrasted with other adhesives, which achieve the same results through evaporation or removal of the solvents.
Hot Melt Sealants: The terms Hot Melt Sealants and Adhesives are often used interchangeably since some formulations actually provide both functions. Sealants are generally chosen for their ability to fill gaps and resist relative movement of the substrates. Sealants are generally used as a barrier or a means of protection. In this way, sealants are used to exclude dust, dirt, moisture, and chemicals or to contain a liquid or gas. They are also often used as a coating to protect a surface or an article. They can exclude noise and vibration, improve appearance, and perform a joining function. Sealants can also be used as electrical or thermal insulators, fire barriers, and as products for smoothing or filleting. Most importantly, sealants are often used to serve multiple roles as they may be called upon to perform one or several of these functions.
Hot Melt Pressure Sensitive Adhesive: Hot Melt Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (HMPSA) are 100% solid adhesives, which adhere to a variety of substrates at room temperature by mere application of light hand pressure. They are soft, permanently tacky adhesives, which exhibit a balance of green strength and cohesive strength. Just like hot melt adhesives, they become low viscosity fluids at elevated temperatures when they can be applied. The difference, however, is that HMPSA remains sticky after cooling, whereas a normal HMA becomes nonsticky on cooling.
Thermoplastic Road Marking Paints: Thermoplastic Road Marking Paint is a dry blend, which is melted, at 150 - 200 deg C and applied on road surfaces as dividing lines. Thermoplastic paint can be applied to asphalt and concrete surfaces (with special primer). It has many advantages over the conventional paints, it has little or no volatiles, it is quick drying, has low cost, offers good luminosity in dark and heavy rains, is anti-skid and waterproof.
LATA (Low Application Temperature Adhesive): These adhesives offer all the attributes of the conventional hot melt at lower application temperature (90 to 110 degrees C). This improves safety standards and reduces maintenance and energy costs without compromising on bond strength and productivity. It is ideal for heat sensitive substrates.
Adhesive Sheets: These are sheets of thermoplastic and thermosetting adhesives available in various colors. They are available in various lengths widths and thickness. These are ready to use adhesives and do not require any specialized applicators they can be applied manually. They are ideal for low automation applications. These are easy to be processed, non-toxic and environmentally friendly.
